The Okavango Delta in Botswana is the world’s largest inland delta. The Delta provides a seasonal habitat to numerous different animal species such as Hippopotamus, Giraffe, White Rhinoceros, zebras, lion, African elephants, leopards, cheetah, hyenas and a huge host of others too numerous to mention.

Imagine you're fishing in Jurassic Park. That is how you will feel while fishing in Botswana, for tigerfish, one of the truly great game fish in the world. A land of compelling beauty, this fisherman's paradise is home to over 80 varieties of fish, many producing angling records, and an astounding array and density of animal and bird life.

The tiger is known for its ferociousness and great fighting abilities. They hit hard, pull, jump and are very difficult to hook due to their razor sharp teeth and bone filled mouths; all the qualities you look for in a world- class fish. With over 1000km of river water to explore, anglers will never get bored. Whether you are fishing the fast flowing waters of Zambezi River, the white water rapids of the Chobe River, or the papyrus fringed backwaters of the Okavango Delta, the tiger will test your abilities as it savagely hits everything from streamers to poppers and makes your reel scream.

Nxamaseri Island Lodge is nestled on a secluded wooded island in the north west of the Okavango Delta panhandle. The waters surrounding Nxamaseri sport over 80 varieties of fish including 11 species of bream and the well known fighting tigerfish. It is here you will find the famous barbel runs; 5 - 50 lb. barbel, in schools of thousands, travel up the Okavango River feeding on smaller fish. For three months out of the year you can follow the constant boiling and splashing of the runs, which attract the biggest and fiercest of the tigerfish to guarantee you constant action on your fly rod. More than 350 bird species inhabit the reeds, trees and water line around the lodge.

Ichingo Chobe River Lodge is a luxury-tented lodge accommodating a maximum of sixteen guests in large twin bedded Meru tents, each with cupboards, tables, electric lights etc., plus it's own private, thatched en suite bathroom and balcony. All tents overlook the river with the main lodge buildings being built over the river and consisting of a lounge and bar with a separate dining room, all under thatch and situated under large shady trees. Fishing is an incredible experience at Ichingo with access to over 100 kilometers of rivers providing excellent fishing in what is undoubtedly the premier tigerfishing water in Africa.
